High Intensity Focused Ultrasound is a fast emerging technology that has a growing array of uses from tumour treatment - both benign and cancerous - to aesthetic and cosmetic applications. The process involves the directing of focused ultrasound, using specialized imaging technologies, to areas of treatment. The advantages of HIFU are many, including the ability to avoid invasive surgeries and the ability to treat patients in clinics in an outpatient environment. Angel has developed the TS-1000, a High Intensity Focused Ultrasound system, which is at the leading edge of this new technology.
