CLINICAL APPLICATIONS
High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) technology has effective applications for non-invasive treatment of certain operable tumours. HIFU technology is intended to allow the surgeon to treat a well-defined area of diseased tissue without damaging surrounding tissue and organs; eliminating the need for incisions, transfusions, general anesthesia and their resulting complications. The system allows the patient to have the tumour safely neutralized without complications related to traditional surgery. The patient returns to work or to enjoy life and regular activities more quickly therefore
reducing the strain and possible financial burden from contracting the disease.

Current Applications
The TS-1000 is currently being used with great efficacy and with a proven record of success for the treatment of leiomyoma (uterine fibroids) and for adenomyosis.  In this area, Angel began first stage clinical trials in 2002 and successful and positive third stage clinical trials were completed at the end of 2005. In addition, positive results have been found in using the TS-1000 for palliative treatment for Renal, Bladder, Rectal and Liver cancers

Future Applications:
Current Angel Science research suggests great potential for the use of HIFU and the TS-1000 for Cancer treatment for Prostate Cancer and Breast Cancer (among others).  Angel Science researchers strongly believe in the promise of HIFU married with Angel Science technology to offer innovative and groundbreaking future treatments.
The prospects are bright for HIFU and for Angel Science & Technology and its partners.  As and when we develop new treatments and technology, we will inform accordingly.

Ultrasound is a mechanical wave which can penetrate the tissue without ionizing radiation injury.
